Last year, our camp sign spent most of its time keeled over on its back , and at the very best of times was only visible during daylight hours.
This year, Sign 2.0 makes its debut on the playa with an all-new stability system and night-vision goodness. Due to complete randomness, your viewing experience will vary.
R&U Camp Sign 2.0
First off, allow us to extend a heart-felt thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to party, reconnect and, of course, indulge in various forms of frozen deliciousness. This was our first formal off-playa event, and our first fundraiser. Thank you for making it such a success!
Secondly, if you wanted to make it and couldn’t attend for some reason – too bad, we ate all your ice cream. Try harder next year. Neener.
And third, pictures of the event are now up! If you have any of your own that you’d like to share, please let us know and we’ll add them to the collection.

An invitation to our first anual Ice Cream Social
Come join us for home-made ice cream, sorbet, and root-beer floats at the 1st annual Random and Unnecessary Ice Cream Social!
Enjoy music, ice cream making demonstrations, hourly door prizes, and various entertainment. Get great prices on playa and other items in the silent auction.
Bring your friends, children, co-workers, etc. Feel free to bring chairs and beach blankets, spinning toys, etc.
Admission: $10 – includes 4 tickets good for ice creams, sorbets, sodas, and hot dogs; and 1 raffle ticket.
The raffle drawing will be held at the ice cream social at 6pm!
Raffle tickets are available for purchase anytime. Raffle prizes include: a full length fun fur playa coat, a ticket to Elysium, a custom taped hula hoop, and more.

Thats right folks i said fun raiser. Help camp random & unnecessary make this year on the playa better then the last. We will be having ice cream, sorbet and even adult root beer floats. You will be able to buy raffle tickets to win prizes (playa fur coat, hula hoop, etc) and a silent auction. So save the date and come help us celebrate.
